Local ingredients, local flavour

Owners, Billy and Rachael Hamilton both come from a farming background and strongly support the farming industry.  Food is a subject close to their heart and using the freshest, seasonal and local produce is integral to their philosophy.

Wine and Beer

Complimenting the food is a carefully selected wine list featuring some of the best grape varieties from around the globe. Our bar is always fully stocked with Scottish, English and local beers, a wide array of spirits, liqueurs and of course, a gantry full of Scottish Single Malt Whisky. Keep an eye out too for our guest ales which are a big hit with the locals. Some of our regular breweries we are using include, Broughton Ales, Stewart Brewing, Timothy Taylor, Caledonian, Isle of Skye brewery, Theakstons, Marstons, Greene King. We are proud to be associated with our closest local brewery, The Borders Brewery, serving Game Bird and Foxy Blond - delicious local ales!

Service

We believe our friendly, professional and well trained staff will make your meal a comfortable and most memorable one.

Where our food comes from

Our beef, lamb and pork are sourced from J Gilmour & son and Hardiesmill Farm.   The beef that we serve comes from the finest quality beef cattle, reared and finished in the Scottish Borders.

Local butcher Craig Douglas in the village of St. Boswells supplies us with beef for our very own steak pie as well as other products. Burnside Farm Foods in Rutherford just 3 miles away supply further meat produce including poultry and game.

We are lucky to be surrounded by local suppliers of venison, hare, pigeon and other game.

When it comes to fish, we have had great support from our local fishmonger in Eyemouth,  D.R.Collins, one of the most noteworthy fish suppliers in the country and winners of many awards.  We also buy sustainable fish from M & J Seafoods.   Fish is ordered and delivered 6 days a week and we have seen our sales of fish rise dramatically this year as customers know how fresh our fish is.

What they say about us...
