Historic setting, gorgeous location, comfortable surroundings and friendly service - what more could you want from your wedding hotel? The Buccleuch Arms Hotel is an ideal wedding venue, conveniently located in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Whether it is a quiet intimate gathering, renewing old vows or a traditional full wedding celebration, we have a range of specially designed wedding facilities to accommodate wedding parties from 30 guests to 150.

Your Wedding Reception

After your wedding ceremony, your reception can begin with a carefully selected champagne or sparkling wine accompanied by some delicious canapés or nibbles. If it's a pleasant day, your guests can enjoy drinks in the garden or make use of the Courtyard connected to the Salmon Room.

We aim to provide you with an unobtrusive but courteous and efficient service to make your day run smoothly.

Following drinks, tables will be beautifully laid with crisp white linen, sparkling glasses, polished cutlery and flowers if required. Of course, the overall look is your choice and coloured table linen can be hired in to suit your specific colour scheme. It is your day and you can decide how the room is dressed, we are here to help.

As you will see from our menus, we offer informal or formal dining, be it a traditional carvery or a three course set meal served to the table, our chefs and events co-ordinator can discuss your requirements. Of course, the menus are a guide, and if you want something specific we will do our utmost to accommodate your special request.

Civil Wedding Ceremonies

We have a civil license and can help you plan a beautiful ceremony to suit your requirements.

Or, if you prefer, you can attend the nearby Registration Office in Melrose. Appointments can be booked in advance by phoning the Registration Office on 01896 823114 or alternatively through the SBC contact centre, Paton Street, Galashiels, tel: 01896 662719.  Whilst casual callers can still drop into the Registration Office without making an appointment, they are not guaranteed of being seen as appointments take precedence.

Your Wedding Menu

An enjoyable wedding celebration is always accompanied by good food. Our Head Chef has created simple wedding menu options to cater for a range of tastes and budgets. The best fresh local produce is used wherever possible and if our set menus are not suitable, we will try to create an individual menu on request.  We offer a range of finger buffets in the evening or you could even opt for an informal hog roast set in the Courtyard.

We also have an excellent wine list that has been carefully selected to offer good quality wines at reasonable prices.

The Salmon Room

The Salmon Room is of a beautiful and contemporary design and seats up to 100 guests at round tables for a served or buffet style meal or carvery. The Salmon Room has its own private bar, wash rooms and a large wooden dance floor for dancing the night away.

The room has a beautiful starlight ceiling and up to the minute mood lighting which can be set to different colours depending on your overall scheme. We are equipped with wi-fi throughout the hotel, a fully integrated Public Address facility and also a hearing loop system.

The Garden Restaurant

For a small reception of up to 30 guests our Garden Restaurant can be booked privately. The Garden Restaurant also has direct access to stunning private gardens.

Marquee Weddings

The hotel lawn is ideal for marquee weddings for up to 200. Please speak to our wedding co-ordinator, who will be able to put you in touch with our marquee supplier.

Finishing Touches

Lindsey, our inspirational wedding co-ordinator will be delighted to help you source excellent wedding suppliers including entertainment, live music, makeup artists, hair stylists, florists, photographers to name but a few. Whatever your request, we will do our utmost to make it happen for you.

Location

The Buccleuch Arms nestles in the scenic heart of the Scottish borders, in the pretty village of St. Boswells, near Melrose. Even though we are set in a rural location, we are just over an hour's drive from Edinburgh, Carlisle and Newcastle airports, 1 hour from Berwick-upon-Tweed and approximately 3 hours from the ferry terminal at Stranraer.
