The Course

Set in the picturesque Leithen Valley. This is a relatively easy walking course with the only steep inclines being to elevated tees and one green. The main challenge is the water, the River Leithen comes into play on four holes and there are a number of small burns that weave their way through the rest of the course.

Don't be fooled by Kelso's flat contours - it's a bigger challenge than it looks! To score well you'll need good planning and execution of tee shots.

Attractive parkland course situated 3 miles from the Championship Roxburghe course. Kelso is well known for the fine condition of its greens and fairways. The original course was designed by Ben Sayers then re-designed by James Braid in 1930. The now mature 18 hole layout was re-opened in 1980

Lauder

Lauder golf course is one of the few remaining truly unspoiled heath land courses in the country, with superb views and great greens. Our course is a must for golfers of every ability.

The Course

The course was initially laid out by Willie Park Jnr. Who was Open Champion in 1887 and 1889. he also set the professional course record, which still stands, of 70 1905. the course lies on a gently sloping hillside. The second fairway is steeper, but, from the top, there are beautiful views of Lauderdale. The 'signature holes' are 'The Wood', a dog-leg par 4, and 'The Quarry' a blind par 3 of 150 yards. Over the last 4 years, the club has carried out a development programme of installation of water on the greens and extensive drainage system in order to extend the playing season. An agreement has been made which results in the sheep being permanently removed from the course.

Situated between the Minto hills and Teviot Valley, a parkland course where trees are the main hazard, with a few sand bunkers. The first 10 holes have gentle sloping fairways, while the last 8 overlook the Teviot valley and are energetic in nature - some almost steep.

The course is set on the side and top of Holm Hill however it does not pose too great a strain on your legs. Trees are somewhat sparse, but visitors will find the small greens difficult to reach in par figures. The course offers scenic views over Newcastleton and Liddesdale Hills.

One of the most picturesque courses in Scotland with panoramic views of the surrounding area. This undulating parkland course is an excellent challenge for all golfers. The tough opening holes are balanced by a more generous stretch. The back nine are fairly mild until the 14th, culminating in an enjoyable round with a testing finish.

At most holes, all the trouble is on the left hand sides of greens and fairways. Aim as far right as possible, if you have a hook! Most of all enjoy the beautiful scenery which most members take for granted.

The Course

A course not to be missed and one of the most picturesque in Scotland. Designed in 1899 by Willie Park Junior, using a strip of land next to the River Tweed. The ruins of Dryburgh Abbey can just be seen over the trees and further a field to Wallace Monument. Each hole is simple in character, most often flat with the occasional ancient tree overlooking the green but greatly enhanced by beautiful surrounding scenery.

The Woll

Although the course is largely flat every hole is different and mature trees, ponds and the Woll Burn mean the course is tightening up. Good positional shots are required to give you approaches to the greens. On some of the new holes, don't leave yourself above the pin!
