Lauder golf course is one of the few remaining truly unspoiled heath land courses in the country, with superb views and great greens. Our course is a must for golfers of every ability.
Hilly
The course was initially laid out by Willie Park Jnr. Who was Open Champion in 1887 and 1889. he also set the professional course record, which still stands, of 70 1905. the course lies on a gently sloping hillside. The second fairway is steeper, but, from the top, there are beautiful views of Lauderdale. The 'signature holes' are 'The Wood', a dog-leg par 4, and 'The Quarry' a blind par 3 of 150 yards. Over the last 4 years, the club has carried out a development programme of installation of water on the greens and extensive drainage system in order to extend the playing season. An agreement has been made which results in the sheep being permanently removed from the course.
