The ceremony was hosted by BBC's Sally Magnusson where Billy Hamilton of the Buccleuch Arms Hotel received the Scottish Inn of the Year Award. 'We are truly delighted to have been recognised as winner of the Scottish Inn of the Year 2008; it's great for the staff as they have worked very hard. It really is rewarding to receive positive feedback from our customers, our residents are enjoying the new look bedrooms and locals and visitors can enjoy meals prepared with lots of delicious local produce' Billy was thrilled to receive this prestigious award from Cabinet Secretary for Finance & Sustainable Growth, Rt Hon John Swinney MSP.

"I just thought I would write a quick note to thank you for such a lovely stay, being in the trade ourselves, many pubs and hotels can be a bit of a let down as their standards aren't the same, but at the Buccleuch we felt completely relaxed and comfortable. The meal we had in the restaurant, and the breakfast could not be faulted, and the refurbished room was lovely and very peaceful! We will certainly pass on our recommendation to our own customers and good luck for the future."Linda and Ricky Noble
